Hello yummy fishy food!

My name's Jake, AKA Mako Jako and this is my new Live Journal. Some of you may know me by alternate names, Rachel, Jouley, Joules, Jouliana, Nate - so don't be fooled - If I act like I know you, I probably do!

If anyone is curious about the name change - just ask. I am not shy to talk about pretty much anything, including the still quite taboo topic of gender and androgyny. So to quell any basic curiosity, I am actually female in body, but about 75% masculine in mind and appearance. I do not disown my sex nor am I in the process of having it changed, I simply live life as I feel it - day by day. Some days are 'boy days', others are 'girl days'. I also used to perform as a Drag King at SUNY Fredonia (Boy Jules) and intend to get back into it when I find a local venue.

If any of the above bothers you, don't friend me and don't get to know the awesome person that I am. *shrugs* I have no time for bigotry and hatred. If, on the other hand, you share similar feelings as me about that particular subject then please DO friend me and share your experiences/stories. I'd love to hear it!

Getting onto what this journal will mostly be about - well, everything about me and what I am currently doing. I will create many custom groups, including but not limited to these below:

Writing - Fiction/Poems (may contain adult material)
Artwork - general art, computer or other (may contain adult material)
Web-Comics - Either my own comics, or posts about other peoples (may contain adult material)
Gender - Posts about my gender/sexuality/androgyny issues/concerns (may contain adult material - will try to stay away from real personal stuff)
IRL - Posts to people who live close enough to me to be considered 'real life/in person' friends. Posts about hanging out, doing stuff in person etc.
Ranting - about life/family/stress (may contain adult material, for good friends)
WOE - Serious ranting, most likely adult related and very personal (only really really good, therapeutic friends)

The root category of this journal - which will be posted as 'public' so you don't need to be friended to view them - will be posts about my yarn work/knitting/crochet and costuming/makeup. Nothing I can imagine that would be adult rated, but if it ever came up I will heavily warn the post!!

When you ask to be friended to my journal (by replying to my 'quasi friends only' post - please state who you are (like, if you know me for reals and i wouldn't guess it from your LJ name) and if you have any preference to joining any of my custom groups. Obviously no guarantee of being added, as some are private and personal and reserved for my bestest friends (no offense, but some stuff casual acquaintances probably wouldn't want to know!)

Of course, I hope that whoever adds themselves to my journal - i hope we become friends as time goes by :) I like friends, i want friends, I neeeeeed friends. :-D No, I'm not desperate. Heh!

More About Me: I am 24 years old, androgynous (see above), living at home with the 'rent on Long Island, NY. For the time being, of course ;) I have a wonderful female cat named Georgie aka Porg, who gets along great with my fathers own 8 cats. I'm currently unemployed but I have worked in various jobs in NY, London England, and Orlando FL. I have also been to numerous schools (yeah, like 8) and have a BA in Psychology from SUNY Fredonia. Minor in TV/Film Communications.

I am bisexual, though pansexual is probably more appropriate. I simply don't care what your packing, I care more about who you are and how you portray/carry yourself. Interests and attitude over biology. I'm currently single, having just gotten out of a serious relationship (1.5 years) with another woman who was also pretty androgynous and a drag king. Not currently looking, (it was not a pleasant break-up) but then again, are we ever really 'looking or not looking'? *shrugs*

Take a gander at my giant list of interests below for more 'about me' - it's incomplete and rather bland but it's what I could think of right now. I do not have a facebook anymore, but I intend to create a new one in the near future so will add that info here soon. I do have a myspace but until it is updated to actually look like a myspace, i will hold off posting the link.
